Am meisten: Madagaskar ist eine sehr schöne Insel mit tollen Landschaften und Menschen. Besonders schön waren Ranomafana mit den vielen tag- und nachtaktiven Lemuren, sowie der Isalo-Nationalpark. Der Besuch des Tanala-Dorfes war ebenfalls sehr beeindruckend.

Am wenigsten: Unser Inlandsflug mit Air Madagaskar wurde drei Mal verschoben.

Kommentar: Wir sind von Antananarivo nach Ifaty 1000 km quer durch Madagaskar gefahren und mit Air Madagaskar wieder nach Tana zurückgeflogen. Unterwegs haben wir den Ranomafana- und den Isalo-Nationalpark besucht. Außerdem haben wir den Anja-Park besichtigt, ein Naturschutzprojekt, in dem sehr viele Kata-Lemuren heimisch sind. Zum Ende haben wir ein paar Tage Badeurlaub in Ifaty gemacht.

My husband and I used authentic for our 2 weeks trip to beautiful Madagascar in October of 2019. From the very beginning, they were very professional and easy to work with. They were great at making suggestions for our itinerary and took care of ensuring that everything ran smoothly from the time our plane landed to the time that we left the country. Although, we found Madagascar to be safe, Authentic ensured our safety and gave us safety tips for crowded areas. We contacted over 15 tour companies but we found Authentic to be the most professional and reasonably priced.

Most importantly, this is a local tour operator. They know their country and show so much respect for tourists. They genuinely care about you having the best experience in their country. By booking with them, you are supporting Malagasy people and the local economy, which is incredibly important for a country like Madagascar. I highly recommend Authentic Madagascar Tours and would use them again!

My husband and i took a trip to Madagascar in October 2019. It was a trip we had been dreaming about for several years, finally become reality. We had an AMAZING time and were so glad we went - especially because we booked through this agency. Madagascar is definitely a place that can easily go wrong for a tourists with the bumpy roads and potential for rough accommodations, but after all the research we'd done into travel here, we were pleasantly surprised. Everything went very smoothly, our hotels were clean and comfortable and our guides were excellent. It is definitely not a country to visit if you need a western style of living at all times, but for us it was a fantastic adventure. Watching other travelers, I know this is because of what a fantastic job Kennedy did planning out the trip for us.

Best parts:
This was a wonderful trip. Here are a few reasons: 1. It was well organized, and tailored to our requests. 2. the personnel we worked with were professional, friendly, delightful, and quick to respond to any questions. 3. Our driver, Adafi, was chosen to meet the request for a person familiar with birds. He was very knowledgeable, a fine driver, and a very fun on the trip. He had a lovely personality and provided a lot of good information about the country. He also demonstrated a passion for his country and people, especially the less fortunate in the southern part where water is scarce. He was a fine ambassador for the company. 4. Our accommodations were comfortable, safe, and met our request. Most of them far surpassed our expectations, and I thought were outstanding. 5. We loved the way the trip was planned to maximize the national parks as well as seeing the country. 6. For two retired professors it was something we could afford and still met all our requests.

Worst parts:
The only thing that was a bit 'less fun' was the long drives between destinations. However, we both realized that this was not something that could be changed --- until the infrastructure and traffic of the country changes.

Summary:
I have wanted to visit Madagascar for many years, having been born and raised in East Africa. However, it was not until I was retired that I could consider the trip. I loved seeing the country and learning about the culture. Walks in the forest seeing the wildlife was also wonderful, and the forest guides chosen by our driver were absolutely great. I also appreciated seeing the range of socio-economic levels in the country, with some areas very much in need of additional aid, such as clean accessible water. All in all, it was a memorable and valuable experience. Re. below - I'd like to upload a few photos - but don't know how. Sorry.

Kommentar: 6 Tage von Morondava zu den Tsingys und zurück, 8 Tage von Morondava nach Ifaty, alles hat perfekt geklappt, besonders der zweite Teil durch Herdynah besonders schön

Am meisten: Die Organisation durch Authentic Madagascar Tours war absolut perfekt (flexibel, kompetent, zuverlässig), alle Personen, mit denen wir zu tun hatten, waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben niemals auf jemanden auch nur einmal warten müssen, im Gegenteil, unser Fahrer/Guide musste öfter auf uns warten! Das Allrad-Fahrzeug war in gutem Zustand und die Verständigung klappte auf Englisch auch gut.

Am wenigsten: Der teilweise katastrophale Zustand der madegassischen 'Nationalstraßen' hat zeitweise das Vorankommen sehr erschwert und das Fahren manchmal ziemlich ungemütlich gemacht. In den größeren Städten kommt man an Werktagen zu Fuß schneller voran als mit dem Auto und solche utopischen Sachen wie Umgehungsstraßen gibt's nirgendwo!

Kommentar: Nach Ankunft in Antananarivo und Stadtrundfahrt hatten wir (meine Frau und ich) einen Inlandsflug an die Südküste. Nach Kurzaufenthalt dort fuhren wir mit einem persönlichen Gide über 1-2tägige Stationen für 16Tage mit Besuchen in diversen Nationalparks vorbei an Antananarivo an die mittlere Ostküste, von wo wir per Schiff zur vorgelagerten Insel Sainte Marie für 5Tage zum Relaxen und Tauchen übersetzten, dann wieder per Inlandsflug nach Tana, von dort noch ein 2-Tagestrip zu vulkanischen Geysiren in ca 100km Entfernung, danach Rückflug nach Deutschland.

Best parts:
Fantastic communication with Linah from *** during the planning of our visit. The parks. The kindness and hospitality of the Malagasy people. The island and the beautiful landscape, the amazing wildlife. The faultless organization. The staff at the office, Mirindra, the great driver Gael who took such good care of us & off course Frank in Nosy be. The beaches, the reefs, the once in a lifetime experience of swimming with the whale sharks.

Worst parts:
Madagascar cuisine leaves a lot to be desired. The infrastructure is not really tourist oriented. The unpleasant *** lodge (which was mitigated by Linah's & Gael's ability to provide an alternative hotel at the same night). Please note that Hotel *** beach resort in Nosy Be, while being pleasant enough, is really way off the beaten path, and you need to drive 90 minutes for going on any excursions from Ambatoloaka port.

Summary:
Arrived in Tana. Took a flight to Toliara where we met our driver. During the next nine days we traveled north. Visited Reniala baobab reserve, Ifaty, Ranohira, Zombitse national park, Isalo, Ranomafana, Anja, Antsirabe, Ambositra, Andasibe. Returned for one night to Tana and then took a flight to five amazing days in Nosy Be. All in all, a great 16 days in Madagascar.

Am meisten: Die Tierwelt, speziell die Lemuren.

Am wenigsten: Teilweise hatten wir das Gefühl, wir seien auf eine Kaffeefahrt. An sehr vielen Orten wurde versucht einem etwas zu verkaufen (Händler, Besichtigung von Werkstätten und Firmen).

Kommentar: Die Reise war sehr schön und interessant. Die Organisation der Reise war sehr gut. Es hat fast alles funktioniert. Die Sachbearbeiterin im Reisebüro (Hasina) und unser Chauffeur waren sehr nett und zuverlässig. Tolle Organisation.

When we were on our way to Madagascar, we only knew approximately what to expect. Whatever those expectations were, they were exceeded. Through you and your team we were able to experience this wonderful land full of beauty, adventure and immenses contradictions. At all times we felt very well taken care of by good organisation and the best hotel selection and could rely on your help. Things always go a little differently than planned. But that was no problem with you. Last but not least by our driver and guide Adafi. With his knowledge, pragmatism and humor we travelled in the best way over the Red Island and got to know not only dreamlike landscapes, but also many people and could even bring a little help to those who needed it. Because of that and the cordiality of you, Heni, we came as strangers and went as friends. We have experienced, seen and felt a lot. Many thanks to Heni, Adafi, Justin and the whole team !

Am meisten: Am besten haben uns die Dschungelwanderungen und die Tsingy Rary gefallen. Wir konnten einige Lemuren in freier Wildbahn entdecken, das war auch sehr toll. Wir fanden es echt faszinierend, wie unser Guide immer wieder Chamäleons erspähte. Die Unterkünfte waren sehr sauber, das Essen ausgezeichnet. Auch der Ausflug in die Emerald Sea war toll!

Am wenigsten: es gibt nichts zum Aussetzen! :-)

Kommentar: Wir sind überwältigt von der Größe des Landes, von der Vielfalt der Landschaften und der Freundlichkeit der Einheimischen, die trotz Ihrer Armut immer lächeln. Im Gesamten war die Reise sehr gut zusammengestellt, danke an Heni, die auch nach der 5 Änderung des Reisevorschlages noch immer ein offenes Ohr für uns hatte!

Am meisten: Alles. Organisation, Durchführung, Hotels, Essen, Umgebung, warmherzige Empfang durch die Reiseleitung, einfach alles perfekt.

Am wenigsten: Nichts. Alles war besser als erwartet

Kommentar: Tolles Land mit herzlichen Einwohnern. Beeindruckende Landschaften und noch tollere Fauna und Flora. Danke für alles. Ihr seid wirklich Profis. Wir hatten das Vergnügen das Team kennenzulernen. Eine solch familiäre Atmosphäre und eine solche Herzlichkeit habe ich selten erlebt. Die Organisation unserer Madagaskar Rundreise war einfach nur perfekt. Wir kommen wieder. Versprochen.

Chère Heni, quand nous étions en route pour Madagascar, nous ne savions à quoi nous attendre. Quelles que soient ces attentes, elles ont été dépassées. Grâce à vous et à votre équipe, nous avons pu faire l'expérience de cette merveilleuse terre pleine de beauté, d'aventure et de grandes contradictions. À tout moment, nous nous sommes sentis très bien pris en charge par une bonne organisation et la meilleure sélection d'hôtels et nous avons pu compter sur votre aide. Les choses se passent toujours un peu différemment de ce qui était prévu. Mais ce n'était pas un problème avec toi. Surtout par notre chauffeur et guide Adafi. Avec ses connaissances, son pragmatisme et son humour, nous avons parcouru l'Ile Rouge de la meilleure façon possible et nous avons appris à connaître non seulement des paysages oniriques, mais aussi de nombreuses personnes et avons même pu apporter un peu d'aide à ceux qui en avaient besoin. Grâce à cela et à la chaleur de toi, Heni, nous sommes venus en étrangers et nous sommes partis en amis. Nous avons vécu, vu et ressenti beaucoup de choses. Un grand merci à Heni, Adafi, Justin et toute l’équipe !

Am meisten: Uns hat auf der Reise alles gefallen. Es war genauso wie wir es wollten/geplant hatten. Wir mussten uns nicht um Transfers oder sonstiges kümmern. Die Unterkünfte waren bis auf eines alle top (sauber, gemütlich, groß). Führungen waren gut, wenn der Guide gut englisch sprechen konnte und er uns auch Sachen erklären konnte. Wir waren außerdem sehr begeistert von unserem Fahrer (Reeza). Wir würden ihn sofort wieder als Fahrer nehmen.

Am wenigsten: Englisch der gebuchten Guides in den Parks war teilweise nicht vorhanden. Es war schwierig so Informationen über die Tiere oder die Natur zu erhalten.

Kommentar: Wir starteten in der Hauptstadt und fuhren in der ersten Woche Richtung Ostküste. Dabei erlebten wir viele Eindrücke im Landesinneren und vom dortigen Urwald. Wir sahen Lemuren und andere Tiere wie Chamäleons und Geckos beispielsweise. Danach setzen wir mit dem Boot über nach St. Marie wo wir den Piratenfriedhof besuchten und einen traumhaften Strand nur für uns hatten. Anschließend genossen wir weitere 3 Nächte in der ***** Lodge mit einem sehr netten Besitzer (Vincent). Wir waren sehr traurig nach dieser Zeit diesen schönen Flecken Erde verlassen zu müssen. Wir flogen in die Hauptstadt und von dort am nächsten Tag nach Hause.

Am meisten: Das Land, die Leute.

Am wenigsten: Die diversen Flüge dorthin.

Kommentar: Sehr schöne Reise, tolle Erlebnisse. Armes (Bevölkerung), reiches (Natur, Bodenschätze) Land.

Best parts:
Absolutely everything was beyond our expectations. We travel quite a lot and have a lot of experience but the tour was meticulously planned and executed. There was not much that could be improved. The best part for us was whenever we encountered the animals in their natural surroundings. Since we come from a densely populated and tiny island state without any kind of wildlife (Malta) this was a priority for us and we were very very satisfied.

Worst parts:
The worst parts had nothing to do with your company as such... 1. we encountered several large groups of loud Italian tourists who had no respect for other tourists or wildlife with their shouting and loud behavior. On Nosy Be we saw tourists actually picking up hatching turtles and 'helping' them by carrying them to the sea!! Our guide talked to the other guide telling him this should not be done but there was little that could be done 2. In the South of the Island we were very sad to see children begging for water and the authorities should do something about this. We gave them all the water we had in the car but we could do nothing for the rest... 3. It was an experience... the driver helped us all the way to the security check in and was very very helpful but once the porters and hotel staff at Ivato International Airport found us on our own and realized that we were in Business Class they took us over, holding our passports and boarding passes with the excuse to help us (actually in a way they did as we were rushed through the airport) but at a cost as they demanded exorbitant tips which we were dishing out in an attempt to get safely through. Giving tips is ok where a good service is done but this part was literally daylight robbery! (we will not let these things spoil our holiday, definitely not, in fact it was an experience which we laughed about back home, but it should not be this way). Again, this had NOTHING to do with the company organizing the tour.

Summary:
Madagascar was on our bucket list... we love Africa, last year we travelled to Tanzania and Zanzibar, this year we had planned Ethiopia but we changed it to Madagascar, and next December going to Morocco. (It is planned that we contact Evaneos for Papua New Guinea in a couple of years’ times...) Linah from Authentic Madagascar Tours planned it with us to the last detail, giving us all necessary info and as I said it was better than we expected.

Nous sommes partis cet été en couple, avec un itinéraire sur mesure et sommes très contents de cette agence. Ils se sont montrés fiables, nous ont fournis de bons véhicules et des guides / chauffeurs top. Je recommande !

Zuerst einmal großes Lob an das authentics team, vor allem an Heni und Justin, die uns sowohl vor als auch während der Reise perfekt beraten und alles top organisiert haben. Weiterhin möchte ich besonders auch unseren Fahrer Dynah erwähnen, der für uns mehr war, als nur ein Faher, den wir als tollen Menschen und Freund kennengelernt haben und der uns immer kompetent zur Seite stand.

Madagascar ist ein landschaftliches Traumland, aber auch geprägt durch große Armut, die auf uns Europäer anfangs sehr befremdlich wirkt und wir uns immer wieder dabei vor Augen führen müssen, was wirkich wichtig im Leben ist.

Nun zur Reise. Wir starteten in Tana, der Hauptstadt und fuhren zunächst in Richtung Osten nach Ansirabe in den Regenwald. Höhepunkt war der größte Lemur, der Indri. Dann Rückfahrt nach Tana und Flug nach Morondava. Abenteuerliche Tour in die Tsingys, in den Kirindy forest und vorbei an der unfassbar schönen Allee de Baobab - dann zurück Richtung Antsirabe und Fahrt in den Südwesten nach Toliari, chillen am Traumstrand. Schließlich Rückflug nach Tana und Ende der Reise.

Unterwegs die unglaublichsten Lemurenarten, Chamäleonarten und tolle und immer freundliche Mallagassen. Auch die Auswahl der Hotels war ausgesprochen gut. Traumhaft das Hotel Palissandre in Morondava und das Jardin de Roy in Isalo. Übgrigens haben wir uns nie wirklich unsicher gefühlt, wie so häufig sind die Reisewarnungen durch die auswärtigen Ämter oft überzogen.

Erwähnen möchte ich zum Schluss noch unsere immer kompenten ausgesuchten lokal guides, die immer tolle Arbeit leisteten und zum Teil auch Deutch sprachen. Besonders hervorzuheben: Sylvain (Tsingys), Christian (Regenwald Ansirabe), Alfons (Kirindhi Wald) und Dasolo (Petra Privatreserve).
Wenn wir wieder mal nach Madagascar fahren, dann nur mit Euch.

Kommentar: Highlights der Madagaskar-Reise waren die freundliche Begrüßung durch das sympathische Team, der persönliche Kontakt mit Fenitra, welche alles sehr gut und zuverlässig organisiert hat, die vielfältigen Kontakte zu der fantastischen Tierwelt und die interessanten Führungen. Wir behalten sehr eindrückliche Erlebnisse und Begegnungen in Erinnerung. Die Reise war sehr abwechslungsreich mit dem Osten, Sainte Marie, dem Norden und Nosy Be. Anstrengend waren die Autofahrten wegen der schlechten Straßenverhältnisse. Sie gaben aber viel Einblick in den Alltag der Bevölkerung. Wir waren gut betreut und hatten jederzeit Ansprechpartner, falls nötig. Wir können eine durch Authentic Madagascar Tours geplante Reise bestens empfehlen. Schon bei der Planung mit Fenitra begann die Vorfreude.

Am meisten: Die Vielseitigkeit Madagaskars: die unterschiedlichen Landschaften, all die vielen endemischen Tiere und Pflanzen, die Herzlichkeit und Gelassenheit der Menschen, die z.T. bitterarm sind, aber dennoch farbenfroh, freundlich, lächelnd und liebenswürdig. So fasziniert sind wir von Madagaskars Natur, die Begegnungen mit den Menschen haben uns nachhaltig berührt.

Kommentar: es ist ein wunderbares und besonderes Land, alles war toll: Route, Fahrer Kyle, all die lokalen Guides, die Agentur, v.a. die Betreuung durch Hasina war grandios! Sie hatte bei der Planung der Route viel Geduld mit uns und hat uns bei unserem verspätet angekommenen Gepäck in Antananarivo sehr geholfen. Wir haben uns rundum wohl und professionell betreut gefühlt! Wir sind immer noch sehr begeistert und können Madagaskar und die Agentur uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
