The Spice Road
This 14-day tour reveals part of the North East of Madagascar. It takes you first to Sambava, in the region of clove, coffee and especially vanilla producers. You visit the hill of Ambohimanitra to discover a rich collection of vanilla varieties and its pollination process, then Antalaha to see the manufacture of the "dhow" — the local boat inherited from ancient Arab traders. The tour continues to Marojejy National Park to explore the lower part of the primary rainforests, with their reptiles, amphibians, lemurs and birds. To finish, you fly back to Antananarivo and explore the Andasibe rainforest in the East, meeting the biggest lemurs on earth, the Indri Indri.

This is one of our signature guided journeys in Madagascar. We've walked it many times — alone, with friends, with our own families — and we've shaped it into something we're genuinely proud of.
You'll be in a small group, led by a local guide who knows the trails, the families along the way, and the best place to stop for lunch. Nothing rushed. Nothing generic.
